At the Bodleian we are using <add> to contain the indexes
to our retrospectively converted finding aids. These
contain a vast amount of detailed data about the
collections. We recognise that this is not an ideal mode of
access in an electronic document (in effect a
back-of-the-book index) and have abandoned the practice for
current cataloguing.
