FLICC Orientations to Federal Libraries and Information Centers Series
Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery

As part of a series of orientations to libraries and information
centers, FLICC is offering an opportunity for federal librarians to
become better acquainted with the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M.
Sackler Gallery Library--Smithsonian Institution. The program will
include:
* Welcome and Introduction
* Introduction to current services and the library's Web catalog
* Tour of the library
* Viewing of the library's rare books

Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, 1050 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington,
D.C.
Special Instructions
Please be prepared to present some form of picture identification.
The entrance pavilion to the Sackler Gallery is located in the Haupt
Garden next to the garden gate on the Independence Avenue side.
Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery share one library
located in the Sackler Gallery, Room 2063, 2nd floor, underground, in
the "Offices and Library" area.

Parking
There is no public parking facility at the Smithsonian. On-street
parking (Independence Avenue) is permitted after 9:30 a.m. and parking
on the Mall after 10:00 a.m.
A limited number of designated on-street parking spaces are available
for visitors with disabilities

appropriate plate or permit.
