DESCRIPTION:
The Health Sciences Library at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon,
GA (near Augusta, GA) seeks a dynamic, creative, and service-oriented
Systems Librarian/Cataloger.  Eisenhower Army Medical Center (EAMC) is
co-located with the Southeast Regional Medical Command headquarters which
has command and control over 7 Army hospitals and 3 health clinics. EAMC
provides primary care to over 50,000 active and retired military and their
families. The medical center has joint venture sharing agreements with the
Augusta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Medical College of Georgia, and
other civilian facilities. The EAMC Health Sciences Library supports several
graduate medical education programs at the medical center along with other
professional training programs in health care administration, clinical
psychology, anesthesia, and licensed vocational nursing.

Responsibilities:  Reporting to the Health Sciences Library Director, serves
as systems administrator for the Voyager Integrated Online Library System.
Directs all technical library functions, such as cataloging and
classification, acquisitions, journal purchasing and management. Serves as
Webmaster for the Library's Web site.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the Basic Requirements and Additional Specialized
Requirements to be considered eligible for this position. All librarians
must meet the requirements for professional education in library science or
possess equivalent experience and education as shown below.
A. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science
in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all
work required for a bachelor's degree;
OR
B. A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education,
training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must
establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided
a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of
professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the
knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and
information services. Additional Specialized Experience Requirements: In
addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants
must have one full year of directly related specialized experience at least
at the level of GS-11 in the Federal Government. Specialized Experience must
have demonstrated the ability to perform, supervise, or direct one or more
of the functional areas of work covered by this series; to understand the
concepts, theories, new developments, and co-relationship of information in
related fields; and to maintain up-to-date information on the state of the
art. Specialized experience must have involved performing a wide range of
duties associated with library automation, cataloging and acquisitions.

You will be rated on your basic qualifications as described by you in your
application and the extent and quality of your experience, education, and/or
training based on your responses to the Supplemental Qualifications
