Hi,
Using multiple 852's for multiple copies in the same location does not
seem to follow the documentation when you look at the statement that
Ralph quoted. The standard goes on to explain, however, that copy
numbers in the subfield t of either the 852 or the 863's can be used to
distinguish multiple copies in the same location (depending on whether
there are enumeration and chronology fields for a serial). For a
monograph with multiple copies in the same location, that subfield t
would most likely fall in the 852. THere is an example under the
subfield t of how multiple copies in the same location might be
designated in multiple 852's.
I think the standard could be a little clearer on this issue.
