Dear Board:
The Salt River Project of Arizona has given the AFC a generous donation
of $50,000 for "general support of the AFC's educational initiatives"
and to offset expenses we might incur in connection with assisting in
the development of the Arizona Heritage Project. This donation will be
placed in the American Folklife Center Fund.
The Arizona Heritage Project is modeled on the highly successful
Montana Heritage Project, which is going into it's eighth year. We are
very pleased to be able to take this model to another state and to be
working with highly skilled and motivated educators in Arizona.
We are sending a mailing out to you today that includes the minutes
from our June board meeting, the report from Shalom Staub, and also a
short article about "ends policy" work. Again, I look forward to seeing
you all in Omaha.
Peggy
