XML schemas for Core Audio technical metadata and Processing
History have been posted on the Audio Engineering Society web
site. Developed by David Ackerman with input from METS stalwarts
at Michigan State, the Library of Congress, and Harvard, these will
ultimately, we hope, be suitable for use in the METS techMD and
digiprov segments. Note, however, that they are not designed
to be used exclusively within METS, and some aspects of the schemas
reflect the need to function independently.
Both schemas are currently working documents of AES SC_03_06, Working
Group on Digital Library and Archive Systems, and are still in
committee. Eventually they will also be opened for public comment.
Currently, you must join the working group in order to be able to
access the files, but you need not be an AES member to do so, and
membership is free. Information about joining, as well as rules and
restrictions, can be found at HTTP://ftp.aessc.org/memb.html.
