Patty,
Currently, I'm the only person on the processing staff who
has been trained in EAD, so I'm taking finding aids written
in Word Perfect by other staff members and putting them into
Cookbook templates in Notetab, using the tool Chris Prom
created. I started out using XMetal but found it would
freeze up and crash frequently, so now I only use it when
I'm having trouble finding an error. Ideally we would like
to have all processing staff input their finding aids
directly into the Notetab templates (which is what I do when
I'm writing one) but to date the time/funding for training
has not been available.

Greetings.
What methods do people have for creating NEW finding aids
in EAD? I
dread the thought of creating in MS Word as usual and then
converting.
I'm sure others have worked out better methods; I'd
appreciate hearing
about them. Thanks in advance for sharing.
