Network Bulletin No. 02-30
Date: September 13, 2002
Subject: Book Collection
Index term: Braille books from the Jewish Braille Institute
The Jewish Braille Institute (JBI) has donated its large
collection of braille books on Judaism and many areas of
Jewish interest to NLS and is in the midst of transferring
nearly 8,000 titles in more than 70,000 volumes to our care.
As the books are processed over the next months, they will
become accessible through the NLS International Union
Catalog, identified as JBI books by the book number prefix
BRI. These will be available from the Multistate Center
West. JBI, now taking advantage of digital technology,
continues to develop its collection of Judaica in braille.
