I am just back from the IMS Global meeting in Sheffield.  "IMS defines and
delivers interoperable, XML-based specifications for exchanging learning
content and information about learners among learning system components."

SRW/SRU (thanks to our own Ralph Levan) was demonstrated as part of the
COLIS project.  A  project based in Australia that is looking at
interoperability among elearning and library systems and repositories.
There was much interest in SRW/SRU.
