PAY RANGE: $20.35 - $30.87 per hour

__GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:__Join the great team at
the Library of Michigan! The individual in this position
serves as the Regional Librarian and Coordinator of the
Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (SBPH). We
are seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, visionary leader to
expand and broaden services to this client group.
Responsibilities include planning; program development;
coordination of daily activities; and supervising a staff of
six employees. This position provides technical assistance
to subregional librarians and directors.
The SBPH, in conjunction with the Library of Congress
talking books program, provides specialized library service
in 22 Michigan counties, to individuals with disabilities,
and multiple services toa statewide network of ten
subregional libraries.
Note: As a requirement of employment in the State
classified service, you must submit to and pass a pre-
employment drug test. In addition, a criminal background
investigation will be conducted.
__MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:__
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in library science/studies from
an ALA accredited institution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent verbal and
written communication skills required.
Must have extensive experience facilitating group meetings
and giving presentations.
Must have experience with computer technology and library
automation systems.
EXPERIENCE: Four years experience providing professional
librarian services equivalent to a librarian in State
service, including either two years equivalent to a
Librarian P11 or one year equivalent to a Librarian 12.
Prefer one or more years experience as a supervisor.

equivalent combinations of education and experience that
provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be
evaluated on an individual basis.
