I don't feel strongly but my preference is to not use "namespace". We could
simply call it the schema identifier.
(Ignore the following rant if you wish: The namespace concept is broken, and my
personal feeling, part of which results from my Z39.50 upbringing, is that use of
"namespace" is as confusing as use of "uri". The concept of namespace and schema
are directly analogous to the Z39.50 grs-1 concept of tagset and schema
respectively, though the xml folks, who I think tried to borrow from Z39.50,
didn't quite get it right . Specifically, an xml namespace is analogous to a
Z39.50 tagset; with grs-1, we don't point (globally) to a tagset, we point to a
schema. A grs-1 schema can incorporate multiple tagsets, as an xml schema can
incorporate multiple namespaces.)
