Hi All,
I subscribed to the list just to see what was going on with the
project, though the following is shaped by my perspective as an
academic user of bibliographic software, and also as part of a group of
people trying to write a new DTD for representing this kind of data
(should be a website up later today at http://tex.aanhet.net/bibx/; we
didn't know about MODS when we started though!).
From this perspective, title, subtitle, and maybe even "short title"
are essential, because bibliographic software often needs to make this
distinction.
Likewise, for names, how would one code the following in MODS?
Dr. John D. Jones, III
or in my research John Smith, SAC (Special Agent in Charge, from an FBI
document)
These distinctions are also relevant for bibliographic formatting tools.
I don't even know if the comments are beyond the scope of the project,
but take it for it's worth.
