First a happy New Year.
I want to add another proposal for that proposal list. In SRU there is a need to specify the URL to a xsl stylesheet in the request parameters. We make use of that parameter locally but I expect that there is a broader need. An example of the use of that parameter is by Ex Libris' MetaLib portal. This portal does distributed searches via Z39.50 and SRU and based on the search results the user is linked to a native interface. This native interface is in some cases the SRU server and the link is a SRU search request with a stylesheet reference. The SRU server puts the stylesheet reference in the XML header and the browser does the rest.
I expect this way of accessing SRU-servers (searching while using your own stylesheets) will become very important.

Thanks. I've put it up, at
http://lcweb.loc.gov/z3950/agency/zing/srw/srw1-1-proposals.html
with a link from the spec page.
