Ooops. Fixed :) Forgot to remove all the SOAP typing info when returning
for SRU.
Thanks. Should work now for IE5 too.
Here's my argument pro XCQL in echoedRequest:
In order to be useful, you need to be able to change the term, so that you
can turn a scan into a search, or replace the term with the last returned
term to continue to window through the term list.
You can't extract a term from CQL with any confidence, especially using
just XSLT's minimal string transformation functions.
On the other hand, it's easy to turn an XCQL fragment into the equivalent
CQL -- it's mostly a matter of taking out the contents from the tags with
the occaisonal extra character (/s between modifiers and > = for prefixes)
IMO, keywordTerm/stringTerm as parameters may create headaches when people
try to use scan in ways that we haven't thought of, or against data that
we haven't thought of. For every new type of data, we need a new
parameter.
Also, by using a search clause, it's easy to turn it into a search.
Otherwise the server would have to return the X/CQL.
