Native American titles in process
In fiscal year 2002, NLS added thirty-four titles to its Native American
collection. These books, most of which are still in process, represent
folklore, history, mythology, fiction, and works by Native American
authors. They will be available in the format noted in the following list
and will be announced in __Braille Book Review and/or Talking Book
Topics.__ The Braille books will also be available in Web-Braille
electronic format. A book number is given if it has been assigned.

twenty-seven stories from the Catawba, Cherokee, Choctaw, and
Seminole tribes among others, retold in modern English. 2001.
Patent, Dorothy H. Animals on the Trail with Lewis and Clark. RC. For
grades 4-7. Retraces the journey of the Lewis and Clark expedition
(1804-1806), comparing their observations of previously unknown
animals with modern information on the same creatures. Discusses what
the explorers learned about wildlife and survival from the Native
Americans they met along the way. 2002.
