ABOUT AGU
AGU is a discussion forum for members of the Archie Green Union
of the American Folklife Center. The Archie Green Union was created March 1,
2002, by the Board of Trustees of the American Folklife Center, in honor of
the man whose vision and dedication led to the creation of the Center in
1976. The purposes of the Archie Green Union are:
1. To recognize and honor those who have supported the American Folklife
Center in its mission to "preserve and present American folklife."
2. To communicate with these supporters, including members of the Board of
Trustees and staff of the American Folklife Center, both current and past,
in order to ensure an ongoing and continuing relationship with the Center,
its staff, and its activities.
3. To advise the director of the Center on matters of policy and public
relations.
4. To assist the director of the Center in raising private funds to support
the programs and activities of the Center.
