I've been pushing the use of MODS, or a MODS-like data model, for
various free software projects. Examples:

able to format MODS records, among others.
I have been developing a more-user-friendly schema in relax ng that
learns from the basic logic of mods, but is much more appropriate for
the non-librarian, free software crowd (who in general find MODS too
complex). I also think it might influence GUIs (such as OOo) based on
these models. This is still very much experimental, but a schematic is
I know nothing about Delphi, but I do believe it's a good idea to see
where projects can mutually-benefit.
