Hi Brandon,

As an amateur sound collector and having learned by trial and error, I can
only give you my  limited "sound" advice:  a) Find the software that is
truly suitable for your needs and read the manual several times. b) Make a
back-up of the original bulk file (your project) just to be safe. c) Most
programs have a" cue list" that allows you to create seperate tracks within
the original file. You can also determine the duration of silence (if
needed) between each track. d) My best advice of all, when in doubt, hire a
professional sound engineer. a human being.

Recently I took on a project to edit a collection of bird songs and had
difficulty with cueing issues so I hired a professional at 50$ per hour.
He came to my home and it took him only 15 minutes to fix the problem that
otherwise would have taken me numerous hours.
