A quick question.
Why is it that the area element's BETYPE attribute only allows for
pointing into an XML file by referencing an id in the target file? Is it
an oversight or is there a reason why the BEGIN and END values cannot be
expressed in xpointer syntax as well? In other words why not add "xptr" to
the enumerated values for BETYPE? Elsewhere in the METS schema the mdRef
element allows such referencing.
