eBooks: After Hype and Death, What Really Works?
This one-day workshop will give a "state of the business" overview of
eBooks with an emphasis on library usability of eBooks. It will cover
what librarians can actually use and do with eBooks, and what to expect
in the near future, including practical applications and many "buyer
beware" warnings. The program will look at business models for eBook
providers as indicators of the viability of that provider both in the
open market place and for libraries specifically. The main points of the
workshop will be
* eBooks on a computer
* eBooks on a dedicated device
* eBooks on the Web
* eBooks in other formats
* eBooks delivery to patrons
* the eBooks wave of the future
