Even though we still need a few more registrants to meet the minimum for this FREE cybercast, FEDLINK is pleased to announce that the OCLC Users Group Meeting will be cybercast! On Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 9:00 a.m., simply point your browser to http://www.loc.gov/flicc/cybercast/oclc03.html and watch the proceedings at your desk.

If you have not yet registered to watch the cybercast, please do so by sending an email to [log in to unmask] today!

You are welcome to register and watch portions of the meeting. The agenda is below. For example, even if you are not the OCLC point of contact at your agency, you may want to watch Eric Childress's excellent overview of emerging metadata standards at 10:45 - Noon. Information about netLibrary will be presented at 10:00.

(If you have difficulty accessing cybercasts because of agency restrictions, we need to hear from you, too! Please send us an email at [log in to unmask] and let us know about your technical issues.)

The competition for these technical resources as the Library of Congress is great. The Library sponsors hundreds of programs each year and many of these programs compete for live online video resources. FLICC has been lucky enough to offer several programs via cybercast each year. But recently, the demand from our membership has been diminishing. Without your interest and support, we cannot continue offering this outstanding opportunity.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you plan to view the OCLC Users Group Meeting , you may want to test your system's viewing options before the event. If you can view any of the videos available on the FLICC Web site's Online Educational Video Library (http://lcweb.loc.gov/flicc/vidlib.html), you will be able to view the cybercast. Please contact your IT/automation professionals for assistance with any local restrictions or firewalls.
Details of the meeting follow.
