The National Agricultural Library is currently recruiting for a Supervisory
Librarian at the GS-12 level (Salary range: $58,070 to $75,492 per year),
in the Gift and Exchange Unit of the Acquisitions and Serials Branch, within
the Technical Services Division of the Library. The incumbent supervises
and provides technical assistance and guidance to staff assigned to the Gift
and Exchange Unit who maintain the NAL Exchange Program with between USDA
and organizations around the world. Other duties include reviewing gift
collections offered to NAL, working with prospective donors to acquire
material for NAL, serving as a selection officer by selecting library
materials in subjects, formats, countries of origin or languages assigned.
The National Agricultural Library (NAL) is the nation's primary resource for
agricultural information in all formats and is one of four U.S. national
libraries. NAL also serves as the Library for the United States Department
of Agriculture. The National Agricultural Library (NAL) is located near the
intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Interstate Route 95/495 (Beltway Exit
25-North), Beltsville, Maryland, USA, 15 miles northeast of Washington, DC.
The Library is a 14-story building on the grounds of USDA's Beltsville
Agricultural Research Center (BARC). Parking is accessible from either
Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue) or Rhode Island Avenue. Bus transportation is
available via the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority system
