Fellow PCC Participants,
Beautiful, sunny southern California will be hosting the upcoming
Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena as well as welcoming the
onslaught of ALA Midwinter attendees in San Diego. To prepare for the
upcoming events, the PCC wants to make sure that you will be included in
the bouquet of flowers to adorn the floats.
The Basic SACO Workshop: "How to Propose Subject Headings for LCSH"
will be offered on Friday morning, January 9th, 2004 at the San Diego
Convention Center, Room 29A from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. More

The PCC, in conjunction with ALA Midwinter, is conducting a Series
Workshop for BIBCO Catalogers at the San Diego Marriott, Coronado Room
on Friday afternoon, January 9th, 2004 from 1:00-4:00 P.M. The
instructor will be Judy Kuhagen, Senior Policy Specialist, Cataloging
Policy and Support Office, LC. The online registration form is

The PCC Calendar (http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/calendar.html) has
undergone revision and has been updated with current information,
particularly with regards to ALA Midwinter meetings and room numbers,
including the BIBCO-At-Large, CONSER-At-Large, PCC Participants'
Discussion Group meeting, and the LC Action Plan meeting.

The PCC Policy Committee at its annual November meeting elected Roxanne
Sellberg (Northwestern University) as the new PCC Chair-Elect. She will
succeed the current Chair, Carlen Ruschoff (University of Maryland) at
the end of her reign.
The Task Group to Survey PCC Libraries on Cataloging of Remote Access
Electronic Resources, chaired by Jacqueline Byrd (Indiana University),
has completed its survey of PCC participants about their current
cataloging workflow for the cataloging of electronic resources. The
results of this survey are available at:

appreciative of the efforts of this Task Group and the implications that
have been drawn and the recommendations that have been made. Please be
