You can take a look at PLEADE (http://www.pleade.org, download at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=80362), an open
source search engine and browser for EAD documents.

It won't do the hit counting a la Dynaweb, but searching a collection
and/or a single document are core tasks for PLEADE.
