The World Bank is one of the world's largest sources of development assistance. In support of its operations and its efforts to promote economic development in borrower countries, the World Bank undertakes research on an array of public policy issues, and actively disseminates information worldwide. The World Bank Office of the Publisher is a FEDLINK vendor since October 2003.
On January 28, we will present three World Bank Online Resources to FEDLINK members:
World Bank e-Library
World Development Indicators
Global Development Finance
World Bank e-Library (http://www.worldbank.org/elibrary) is an electronic portal to the Bank's full-text collection of books, reports, and other documents. A subscription-based research and reference tool, the World Bank e-Library brings together, in a fully indexed and cross-searchable database, more than 1,300 titles published by the World Bank during the past several years and all future titles.
World Development Indicators (WDI) Online (http://publications.worldbank.org/WDI/) contains statistical data for over 550 development indicators and time series data from 1960 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Data includes social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators.
Global Development Finance (GDF) Online (http://publications.worldbank.org/GDF/) contains statistical data for the countries that report public and publicly-guaranteed debt to the World Bank Debtor Reporting System. The database covers external debt stocks and flows, key debt ratios as well as average terms of new commitments, currency composition of long-term debt, debt restructuring, and scheduled debt service projections.
