Hello, all:
By popular demand, the METS Editorial Board is arranging another METS
training session on the West coast of the U.S. similar to that offered in
Washington, DC in October of last year. The dates for the event have been
set for April 8th and 9th, 2004 at Stanford University in Palo Alto,
California. Co-hosted by Stanford University Libraries and the University
of California's Digital Library, the METS Board is planning one and a half
days of METS training with the first day geared to those less familiar with
METS and less technical. Day Two is planned to be a Developer's Forum for
those with more technical interests and needs. There will be separate
registrations for the two days in order to plan the event, but no
registration charge. The draft program for the training event is listed
below. The Board would appreciate feedback on the planned program in terms
of content and length of time, and an estimate of the number of people who
could / would attend the event by next Thursday, February 12th. Program
feedback can be sent to the METS Listserv or to me at [log in to unmask]
Please send your intent to attend for one or both days to
[log in to unmask] As more information about the event becomes
available, it can be found at the METS web site:
http://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/. Thanks for your interest!
