The thing iI refered to serves as a portal. We use the stylesheet
parameter only when we link from an HTML document to a search and want
to return HTML. I do not know anymore if the latter works, but if it
doesn't work it is not a security issue but has to do with the fact that
your own machine is not a web server and you need to specify that it is
a file that you want to load and not a http page.

As best I can tell, what Theo has here is some javascript that will
read a
local stylesheet and apply it to the XML that we send. But it does not
use
the stylesheet parameter of SRU to do that.

&style=searchpage.xsl
. When a record is displayed you can select different stylesheets by
"change format". In the future we anticpate users to put their own
links to others stylesheets in. I also put Rob's stylesheet in there.
Rob, do I have your permission?
We did not yet finish a version that works for Mozilla, so it still
works for IE only.
Currently I'm in contact with a Russian programmer who is providing a
SRU frontend to a metasearch engine. He defined a "metasearch
operation"
that will only return hitcounts plus resultsetids. From there it is
possible to get the individual results. It will be available within a
few days. Anyone interested?
