As Reference Librarian, serves as program specialist or professional in
Informational Services and Management Systems. Position researches legal
and business reference information requests from OCC employees, other
government libraries and the general public, and maintains a complete
collection of reference data base materials.

Prepares comprehensive bibliographies on specific subjects relating to
the mission of OCC and selects materials to develop and maintain in the

works with Information Technology on such matters.
I. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must meet the basic for professional education in library
science or possess equivalent experience as shown in A or B as follows.
A. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library
science in an
accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work
for a bachelor 's degree; OR
B. A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level
training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must
conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a
and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of
librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge

II. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
In addition to meeting the BASIC REQUIREMENTS above applicants must
possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower
pay band, NB-IV.

the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform
the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of
the position to be filled. Such experience must have demonstrated the
ability to perform one or more of the functional areas of work covered
by this series; to understand the concepts, theories, new developments,
and co-relationship of information in related fields; and to maintain
up-to-date information on the state of the art.
