Great; that is just what I would prefer to do. However, what then do we do
about the fact that the MARC21 manual shows an example of the note given in a
500 field and OCLC specifically says to use a 500 field for it.
Also, to complicate matters (as an off-list reply reminded me) what about the
instructions given in CONSER to use 580 instead for this note--Module 14,
page 24:
580 $aTranslated from the Dutch.
Shouldn't we all be doing the same thing? Perhaps we need some clarification
in the MARC21 manual for the definition of the 546?
