Jan -- As usual, I'm catching up. Thanks for pointing this out.
The sort parameters have changed in 1.1 -- for example "direction"
('a' or 'd') is replaced by "ascending" (boolean) and "case" ('1' or
'0' for "sensitive" or "non-sensitive") is replaced by caseSensitive
(boolean). The sort parameters for 1.1 are listed at:
http://www.loc.gov/z3950/agency/zing/srw/sort.html. I'd prefer that we
somehow point to these, and to clarify, where needed.
The URL syntax description says parameters are separated by '&', where
the names of the parameters are from the service description. The
service description lists "sort" and points to another page, where the
sub-parameters are listed. But nowhere (that I can see) do we say how
to separate sub-parameters -- they're supposed to be separated by
comma, right? But that's discoverable only by looking at examples from
1.0. I don't see sort examples coded in SRU in 1.1. (Of course I
might be missing them.)
So, clearly (it seems) some clarification is needed.
I'll work on fixing this, and any suggestions on the most direct
approach would be appreciated.
Thanks.
