Hi Gianluca,
during writing a MA thesis, I worked w XMLSpy as main developing tool
and found it quite useful. I have written an EAD Schema (minimal set) in
the course of the paper http://www.iordanidis.de/texte/MA_2003.pdf
starting at page 83 onward.
It never came to writing EAD instances based on this XML schema. It
should be working perfectly, though, once you have figured out XMLSpy´s
odd way of dealing w XSD´s.
Spy is a bit touchy with the way you design <complexTypes> and their
content. Once found out about the adjustments you have to make, XSDs
may be used as data models for EAD instances.
