LIBRARIAN (ACQUISITION SPECIALIST)
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) seeks an Acquisition
Specialist to serve in the CRS Office of Information Resources
Management, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of
information services that support both the United States Congress and
CRS staff.
The incumbent will develop acquisition strategies, and, in
collaboration with staff, identify new or updated information resources
to be considered for acquisition, making determinations of the most
appropriate format. With knowledge of the marketplace, the incumbent
will establish relationships with vendors, order and receive print
materials, negotiate prices and trials with vendors of electronic
products and work with CRS legal and financial staff to negotiate
licensing agreements. Work will also entail creating and maintaining
acquisitions records and addressing funds control issues.
This position is being offered at the GS-13 level ($72,108 - $93,742).
