I have updated OCKHAM Alert, and now it not only indexes (selected)
harvested OAI repositories, but it also indexes MARC data. In other
words, given one of a number of underlying database applications, a set
of Perl modules and scripts, and an HTTP server I can harvest OAI data,
convert/import MARC data, index the whole thing, and provide an SRU
interface to the index. Right now the index only contains about 2.5K
records.
Things are still pretty rudimentary, but I believe we are headed in the
right direction. "Thanks, Ed!"
