For those of you that used to be Military Librarians, I would like to let
you know about two recent deaths.
Rich Hanusey, the U. S Army, Installation Management Agency, Europe Region
Librarian died Sunday, November 21, 2004 in Heidelberg Germany, due to
complications from an illness. Arrangements for burial and memorial service
for Rich are still pending. Rich had given 32 years of service to Army
libraries from Hawaii, East Coast United States, Italy and Germany. He was
very proud of his recent initiative to bring library kiosks to soldiers in
Iraq and Afghanistan.
Patsy Loomis, the Community Librarian at Kaiserslautern, Germany, was killed
in a car accident on Thursday, November 18, 2004. Patsy will be laid to rest
in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are pending at this time. Patsy's sister
is Ina Nesbitt, Community Librarian at Hanau.
