I have made available a test SRU Service at the following URL :

http://herbie.bl.uk:9080/cgi-bin/blils.cgi

This service provides access to the British Library Integrated Catalogue.

The SRU response includes a stylesheet URL, which provides a simple web
interface to the service.

A sample search is :

http://herbie.bl.uk:9080/cgi-bin/blils.cgi?query="tadcaster"&operation=searc
hRetrieve&version=1.1

The service is provided by an SRU/Z39.50 gateway accessing the British
Library Z39.50 service.

The service allows searches using utf-8 and returns records using utf-8.
This means it is possible to search in Cyrillic, Greek and Hebrew alphabets,
if you have a means of inputting these characters. Sample searches for
records with these character sets can be found at
