MARC is the more granular of the two encoding schemes so it more straightforward to convert MARC into EAD. If you go from EAD to MARC, you will inevitably have some editing to do in the fixed field areas and also with respect to subfiled coding in 1XX, 6XX, and the 7XX MARC fields.
That said, one approach is to use a stylesheet to convert an EAD record into MARC XML format and then use a converter that will transform MARC XML into MARC2709, the format your ILS and the utilities can accept.

What is the best way to convert EAD records into MARC records that can then be exported to OCLC/RLIN/ local OPACs?
