OCLC-CAPCON is offering a workshop series tailored to the middle
manager.
Leadership Principles and Practices Workshop Series 2005
Leadership Principles and Practices exposes participants to effective
leadership ideas and actions in the context of employees, patrons and
teams. Focusing through the lens of "middle leaders," this experiential
workshop series highlights the unique role and challenges of middle
leadership in transforming library systems.
Workshop participants begin the personal transformation from "middle
manager" to "middle leader" through self- and organizational-assessment,
small and large group discussions, casework and presentations that
emphasize personal empowerment, ownership of the system, working and
learning in teams, and creative thinking. OCLC CAPCON has partnered with
Davita Crawford of Developing Human Capital, LLC to create a series of
monthly workshops-each building on the previous-to help OCLC CAPCON
member libraries build leadership capacity through professional
development workshops specifically tailored for middle managers.
