One possible down side of relying on the user's browser to do the
transformation is a time-related performance issue. With really long
finding aids, the transformed, HTML version can sometimes take as long as
30 seconds (more?) to appear on the browser screen, causing the viewer
think the browser has frozen and give up. For example, try to view
http://special.lib.umn.edu/findaid/xml/yusa0012.xml
or http://special.lib.umn.edu/findaid/xml/yusa0004-4.xml.
