Subject : Publications delays
Several NLS publications have been delayed because of contracting difficulties at the
Library of Congress. Braille publications have been affected most severely: the
contract for the braille edition of __Braille Book Review__ was not awarded until
February 10, 2005, and the contract for braille editions of __News and Update__ is still
The print editions of __Talking Book Topics and Braille Book Review__ are currently on
schedule; the braille edition of the March-April Braille Book Review should ship very
close to the normal date and so should the recorded edition of Talking Book Topics.
We hope to have __Cassette Books 2004__ available in late spring, with
Braille Books to follow at midsummer.
While the appearance of the online editions of Braille Book Review and Talking Book
Topics regularly precedes issuance in other formats, usually by three or four weeks,
these publications are not on a fixed schedule. They will, however, continue to be
posted before the issuance of the other versions.
