Crafting the Library Marketing Message
Date: June 15, 2005
Time: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Place: AARP 601 E Street NW, Washington, DC
Taught by Judith A. Michaelson, the President of JAM Marketing, LLC, a Delaware, Ohio based consulting firm focused on helping organizations design and implement short-term marketing strategies that yield long-term results. Ms. Michaelson has an extensive background in marketing and communications, including seven years directing the marketing communications program at OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.
This hands-on workshop will demonstrate how to develop a simple marketing plan for your library. Participants will set a context for their marketing program, define target audiences and their needs, establish a market position, set measurable objectives, and map strategies and tactics to objectives to keep marketing programs on track. Using group exercises, attendees will leave with a sample plan to use as a model in their libraries.
