Please join Dialog representative Judy Levy and Ruth Apelt on Tuesday, August 2nd from 2-3:00 pm (EDT) for a special Web Presentation for FLICC/FEDLINK clients.

CSA on Dialog

Dialog is very pleased that Cambridge Scientific Databases (CSA) are
returning to Dialog. More than 30 CSA files of scientific and technical
research are being added to Dialog services throughout 2005.
  When fully loaded, the new CSA files will nearly double the amount of CSA content that previously had been available through Dialog.

 CSA Technology Research Database (TRD)

The focus of our August 2nd presentation will be the CSA Technology
Research Database (TRD) on Dialog. TRD is now available on Dialog as
File 23 for clients who wish to subscribe at a flat rate for unlimited
usage.

 Dialog is the only content aggregator, besides CSA, currently offering the CSA Technology Research Database. This comprehensive mega-file comprises 17 component files from three categories of content - engineering, high technology and materials research. Included is content from CSA Aerospace and High Technology Database (with unique coverage of research in aeronautics, astronautics and space sciences) and METADEX (a complete source of metals and alloys information).
TRD provides more than 6 million records from 4,000 authoritative, peer-reviewed sources from learned societies and more. Approximately 25,000 to 30,000 new records are added monthly.

 Dialog Combines CSA Content and Value-Added Services

 In addition to exploring the content of TRD and the editorial
enhancements, we will review the value-adds that searching TRD on Dialog provides including:

 * Free seamless linking to Fulltext records using e-Journal,
digital object identifier, OPAC, and other custom links set up for your
account.
* Custom CSA report templates for results and for Alerts.
Searchers can use the custom templates to quickly process their research into a desired format for distribution to customers, managers and others in their agency.
* Multiple output formats including XML, Tagged, Word, and Excel.
* Custom Dialog Toolkit search forms for desktop access to TRD with the option of including additional databases.
* Dialog OneSearch / Federated Search Capabilities - CSA
complements INSPEC(r), Ei Compendex(r) and other SciTech files, you are already searching on Dialog today. In addition to the newly offered CSA files, Dialog online services provide access to more than 480 million documents of scientific, technical and medical research, including scholarly and professional literature, conference proceedings, business and government research reports, business directories, news and more.
Dialog also offers a comprehensive array of intellectual property
research, including patent and trademark records from around the world.
Take advantage of multi-file searching, duplicate removal, statistical
analysis of results using Rank, sorting and much more!
* Supporting documentation and search aids including BlueSheets (File 23) and Quick Reference Card for Searching TRD.
* Subscription-based pricing for TRD & for TRD Alerts only.

 Dialog will be loading additional CSA databases composed of research on engineering, environmental sciences, life sciences, materials,
social/library sciences and technology. As of today Dialog offers the
following files:

* Technology Research Database (TRD) (Subscription-based pricing)
*       Aerospace & High Technology Database (Subscription-based
pricing)
*       METADEX (Subscription-based pricing)
*       Aluminum Industry Abstracts
