XMetaL is still used in the SAA EAD workshops in part because the
publishers continue to provide SAA with a license to do so. However, we
continue to point out other XML authoring options, including Oxygen and
XML Spy.

Subject: XMetaL and other authoring tools?
Hello:
I'm interested in knowing whether other institutions that have used
XMetaL as an EAD authoring tool have switched to other options. The
Northwest Digital Archives has used XMEtaL since the beginning, but is
interested in knowing about other options as we begin our second phase
and train new partners. Some partners are not pleased with XMetaL
(particularly the current version).
Michael Fox and Kris Kiesling, are you still using XMetaL in the SAA EAD
workshop?
Best, Jodi
