Hello Collective Wisdom --
Question about the EADID element content. Per the standard, it "should
include at least one of the following attributes: publicid, identifier,
url...If using publicid, content is defined in ISO/IEC 9070:1991,
intended to be universally unique. If using identifier, content isa
machine-readable unique identifier. If using url, content should be
expressed in absolute terms (e.g., http://www.loc.gov/ead/ms99999.xml )
I thought that "machine-readable unique identifier" just meant any
alphanumeric text, but the EAD report card is flagging that as an error.
What's everyone else using for this content? Is anyone using ISO 9070
public identifiers? If so, how are you generating them?
Many thanks --
Michele
