Right, they certainly end up with different schemes. But what do you
mean by incompatible schemes? You mean that when different schemes
define different metadata elements that they are incompatible? When are
schemes compatible?

As soon as you need several requests to get more data than just dc it
seems to me that one would like to have them all in a single request.
Which richer metadata records than we have currently available it seems
a reasonable requirement.
