I wonder if we could have a bit more organized a discussion. We have a few
going on right now. Could we use a more specific subject line and discuss
one at a time. So right now we have discussions on:

1) mandatory vs. optional
2) global elements

The first message about global elements in PREMIS was written by Richard
Davis on Sept. 16 with the subject line Schema style (or, Extent and
Extensibility).

A response was posted by Ray Denenberg in the October archives on
Oct. 3. There was no further discussion on the particulars. 

Perhaps we could take the discussion from there.
