Dear Colleagues:
I thought Diane's idea a fascinating one, and although I'm not going her full route with regard to having students comment on RDA by the deadline for comments, I have suggested to my Serials class that someone might wish to do a "compare and contrast, and conclude which is preferable" paper on serials descriptive cataloging as found in AACR2 with what is in RDA. It will be interesting to see if anyone takes me up on this and what their conclusions will be. Of course this assignment could be modified for other formats and media, depending on what's being taught.
Cordially,
Marjorie

Also, replaying to Diane Boehr on a similar topic: very interesting
idea of asking students to respond to RDA. I am pondering whether it
would work in my course. Would you be able to summarize their
reactions briefly for our benefit or discuss how the students reacted
to the assignment?
Thanks
Cheryl
