Who should control the Internet? This key topic and others of concern to all information professionals will be presented when the DC Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (DC/SLA) hosts Strengthening SLA's Global Visibility: Substance and Culture in Tunisia, presented by Janice R. Lachance, SLA's Chief Executive Officer. Janice will share her experience as a member of the United States Delegation to the United Nation's World Summit on the Information Society. The Summit brought together Heads of State, Vice-Presidents and Ministers, as well as high-level representatives from international organizations, private sector, and civil society to find solutions and reach agreements in the field of Internet governance.
Come hear Janice discuss the issues which lead to the Summit, the processes used by various stakeholders to advance their positions, the outcomes and next action items that have been planned.
* The DC/SLA Chapter wishes to thank Factiva for their sponsorship of this program. *
