Just a reminder that the 2006 National Conference of Librarians Serving Blind and Physically
Handicapped Individuals is rapidly approaching. Conference registration and hotel reservations
should be completed as soon as possible so that we may prepare for your participation. Please
register online at http://www.loc.gov/nls/networkdocs/conference2006/index.html to ensure that
you're expected.
Make your lodging reservation at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, Portland, Maine, the conference
venue. Please call 1-800-345-5050 and mention that you are attending the National Library Service
for the Blind and Physically Handicapped conference to receive the special rate of $77 single or
double, plus 7 percent tax (tax subject to change without notice).
The 2006 national conference will take place in Portland, Maine, April 30-May 4, 2006. The
conference will be preceded by a workshop on local digital recording from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, April 29. In addition, an optional postconference tour at the Perkins School for the Blind
in Watertown, Massachusetts, will be hosted by the Massachusetts regional library on the afternoon
of Thursday, May 4.
For your convenience, a brochure containing information about Portland, Maine, is attached as well
as a brochure about the museum at Perkins.
