I'll leave that for the true experts; there is interleaving, but whether
more or less and how arranged I do not know.

It is worth noting that DVD-Video does not sacrifice the layer of ECC
lost on CD-DA or VCD. My guess is that that's also true for DVD-Audio,
but again someone more knowledgable than I may provide more information.
