If the materials in the boxes you're describing have numbered
folders, you can always designate a "file" for the run of folders,
from Folder 1 to the last folder number in the box:

<container type="Box">1</container>
<container type="Folder">1-50</container>
[unittitle, unitdate, scopecontent, etc.--the scope note applies to
the contents of all 50 folders]
This also works well if there are two or three groups of folders with
separate descriptions in the box--you have a <c0x level="file"> for
Folders 1-20, 21-30, 31-50, for instance, with the same box number
each time. I think "file" is a legitimate designation for either a
folder or a group of folders. This way, your descriptions are never
bounded by the physical container (box or otherwise).
